Our period swim bottoms contain a triple-layer gusset that absorbs your flow and locks in leaks, whether you're in or out of the water. When they go in the wash with detergent, the blood releases through the top layer—leaving your swimwear fresh and clean for next time. Yes, your other clothes will remain stain-free!
Here's the breakdown of our 3-layer leakproof technology:
Layer 1: A silky-smooth top layer that sits comfortably against the skin.
Layer 2: A highly-absorbent middle layer designed with our leakproof technology to absorb up to 1-3 tampons worth of period blood.
Layer 3: A waterproof outer layer prevents swelling.
Not always. When your flow is light, our swimwear can be worn alone without any additional period protection. On super heavy days, we recommend wearing a tampon or menstrual cup with your swimwear. Every period is different though, and we recommend doing whatever makes you feel most confident.
Machine wash cold and lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.

My autistic daughter struggles with understanding her period and all Knix products are a godsend, but these shorts are amazing! She loves them and they help us manage her periods without any incidents. Highly recommend!!!
What a thoughtful innovation for tween girls
I purchased these for my daughter for a vacation. After her swim she sat down and it was leaking through the shorts and onto the chair that she was sitting on. I still rated this four out of five stars, because it is a great product. She started using one of knixteens period panties with the shorts for her heavy flow. Then after three days, she was able to just use the shorts by itself. I would still recommend these shorts. Make sure that when you are picking this out that you aren’t going by the size of the shorts, but the size of the underwear. If your child has a heavy flow, definitely think about having them wear a period panty with these shorts. If they have a heavy float, they can definitely not stay in the shorts all day either.

Good swim/board shorts for our tween. She found them comfortable and worked well with her bathing suit top. Wish there were more colour options. Not enough swim short options in general so appreciated this option but they are expensive.
